The Forum for Human Rights Education and Peace from the Basque Country wants to remember the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki 70 years after. As a working Forum for Peace and Human Rights wants to denounce these massacres, as well as others that still happen in many parts of the world.
We show our solidarity with the Japanese people at this event, and to all the people who in one way or another have been or are the subject of any kind of violence, applying for and working every day as a forum for the non-repetition of cases like the ones happened in Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War II.
Remembering these historical facts and in solidarity with the victims of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki the Forum for Human Rights wishes to emphasize the importance of the work of education for Peace and Human Rights, so that events like these won’t happen again. We want to express, as well, our solidarity and support to the initiatives of Kids’ Guernica (http://www.kids-guernica.org/)developed by pupils and students in Hiroshima and Nagasaki and elsewhere in the world within the framework of 70th anniversary of the bombings . These initiatives are essential acts that join us on the road to a Culture of Peace.
